Intramuscular Stimulation

IMS or Intramuscular Stimulation, is a dry needling treatment for chronic pain and muscle tightness developed by Dr. Chan Gunn to treat the pain that arises in muscles when the nerves, which supply those muscles, become dysfunctional. The technique requires the placement of thin, flexible needles into muscles. The treatment is different than acupuncture, even though similar needles are used in both.

At Physiomoves, ALL of our Physiotherapists are certified in dry needling! Tyler, Dan, and Sol are certified Gunn IMS Practitioners, and can offer this service at both clinic locations. Tiphanie, Monica, Ravi, Derek, Cheyenne, and Lisa are all certified with the Kinetacore IMS Functional Dry Needling method as well. Tiphanie has obtained her lever 2 Kinetacore IMS certification. IMS services may be offered in conjunction with your regular Physiotherapy treatment as deemed appropriate by your Therapist. There is no surcharge for IMS treatment.
